Yolanda’s desk fields these questions constantly, from TxDMV paperwork to weekend shift scheduling. Don’t see yours? Give our office a call or send a quote request and we’ll get back to you.
Quick facts
Destiny runs as a TxDMV-certified household goods motor carrier, with every truck staffed by our own payroll crew, nobody day-hired. Household jobs get a written figure before anything is loaded.
Does Destiny Movers own its trucks, or hand the job to a broker?
A real, direct mover. Destiny holds a TxDMV household goods certificate and runs company trucks with payroll crews — no matching service, no handoff. One crew handles your job start to finish.
Do you only cover the suburbs, or the industrial corridor too?
Both, deliberately. We book subdivision moves in Missouri City and League City the same week we schedule Ship Channel families in Pasadena, Baytown, and Deer Park around plant turnaround shifts.
What does a local Houston move run?
Hourly crews start at $115/hr for two movers and go to $199/hr for four, or you can lock a written flat figure — pricing accounts for real access, so a Heights walk-up differs from a Missouri City two-story.
Is there Spanish-language support for booking?
Yes. Julian Escobar, our Move Coordinator, works fluently in English and Spanish and plans routes around 610 Loop and I-10 traffic so nothing gets lost in translation.
How far out from Houston do you go?
Inside and outside the 610 Loop across the metro, plus Missouri City, League City, Friendswood, Pasadena, Baytown, and Deer Park, with interstate lanes to Corpus Christi, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Oklahoma City.
Can you manage a Galleria-area high-rise move?
Routinely. Our office confirms the building's elevator window and dock schedule days ahead of your move, so the crew isn't stuck waiting in a lobby.
Are you actually licensed to operate in Texas?
Yes, fully. Destiny carries a TxDMV motor carrier certificate, USDOT and MC authority for interstate runs, and cargo and liability coverage on every job we book.
Can you supply a COI for my apartment building?
Absolutely. Forward your property manager's contact anywhere in the metro and our office will issue the certificate and confirm elevator access before move day.
Do you offer short-term storage between homes?
Yes, climate-controlled space runs roughly $95-$235 monthly depending on unit size, and the same crew that picked up your load handles redelivery.
When should I book ahead of hurricane season?
A week's notice usually covers local jobs; give two to three weeks for long-distance moves or anything scheduled June through November, when storms can shuffle our calendar fast.
What if something gets damaged along the way?
You're covered at $0.60 per pound under standard released-value protection, with 1-3% full-value protection available as an upgrade, and nine months to file a claim with our office.
Does Destiny handle office and commercial relocations?
Yes, including moves tied to Houston's energy and healthcare employers. Commercial work is priced the same flat way as a household job.
